SagaBetting (sagabetting.com) is a free football analysis and prediction game, part of the NetworkSaga family of websites. There is no real-money betting, no stakes and no payments. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of SagaBetting, based in Sweden. For any question about your data, or to use your rights, email contact@sagabetting.com.
What we collect and why
- Your account (only if you sign up): username, email address, display name and a securely hashed password. Used to let you log in and take part in Beat the AI. Legal basis: performance of the service you signed up for (GDPR art. 6.1 b).
- Your predictions: the scores you predict, the time each prediction was saved and your points. Used to run the game and the leaderboard. Legal basis: art. 6.1 b.
- A one-way hash of your IP address stored with each prediction. The real IP address is not stored and cannot be read back. Used only to prevent cheating and abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a fair game (art. 6.1 f).
- Server logs: like every website, our web host (Hostinger) briefly logs technical data such as IP address, browser and requested pages for security and operation. Legal basis: art. 6.1 f.
What is public
If you have enough scored predictions, your display name, points and number of predictions can appear on the public leaderboard. Your email address and username are never shown. You can change your display name at any time in your profile.
Cookies
We only use the cookies WordPress needs to keep you logged in and remember your login form settings. These are strictly necessary and do not track you. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Third parties
- Hostinger hosts the website and stores its data (within the EU/EEA or with appropriate safeguards).
- football-data.org provides match data. Team crests are loaded directly from their servers, so your browser connects to them when you view matches.
- AI providers (such as OpenAI and Google) receive only football match data so their models can make predictions. They never receive any information about you or other visitors.
We never sell your data and never share it for advertising.
How long we keep data
Your account and predictions are kept until you ask us to delete your account. When an account is deleted, its predictions are deleted too. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, get a copy of it, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to processing. Email contact@sagabetting.com and we will answer within one month. If you think we handle your data incorrectly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY) at imy.se.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 18 or older.
